Upon completing the mural many fellow volunteers and I travelled to the Caribbean cost to experience another part of Costa Rica.

Once back in Costa Rica after an amazing get away we were informed that the schools were once again open and I was finally going to be able to teach physical education. In conclusion I have been having an absolute blast playing sharks and minnows, relay races, kickball, jump rope activities, handball, and of course tons of futbol or as us Americans say, 'Soccer'.

Unfortunately Jeremy and I were going to have to part ways with our new family because we have a week of traveling ahead of us. Thus on that Sunday we ported North to Nicaragua, where we stayed in both the beautiful cities of San Juan del Sur and Isa Ommetepe. Additionally, during our week of travel we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to visit the picturesque beaches of Playa Samara.

After we returned from our long week of traveling we were informed that all of the Costa Rican schools were closed for an additional week due to the recent swine flu epidemic.

Thus the next week instead of working at the desired sports coaching program many volunteers worked on painting a mural and varnishing furniture at a local orphanage.

Finally, I am really going to miss my host family, students, and all of the great friends I have made through this life changing volunteer program.
