San Ramon is a beautiful place surrounded by rolling hills, full of friendly people.

The Costa Ricans have a saying that they use religiously. You will hear it used as a greeting, a goodbye just a general conversation filler. The phrase is "pura vida", it means "pure life" and it describes how the ticos live. They eat good food, take time to make conversation and accept strangers as family.

I have spent 3 weeks in San Ramon teaching physic public school and each day has made my life seemingly more pure. The kids at Escuela Belen love unconditionally. They are static to see the gym teachers and want nothing more than to show their affection and learn about a different culture.

San Ramon is a beautiful place surrounded by rolling hills, full of friendly people. The only other tourists I have seen in the past month have been volunteers.

This placement has been authentic and rewarding. I wish I could live the pure life for longer.
